You know the cuckoo clock. I first heard the bird that inspired it while visiting the hillsides overlooking Assisi, Italy several years ago. The call of the bird sounds exactly like the clocks. I’ve heard the cuckoos calling all the way across Northern Spain, but have yet to spot one. Today, I caught one briefly in flight and then calling. FTW.
